The Burke Lectureship Welcomes Bill McKibben for a Conversation on Climate, Faith, and Responsibility
Description
The Burke Lectureship Welcomes Bill McKibben to UC San Diego for a Timely Conversation on Climate, Faith, and Collective Responsibility
In an era marked by escalating climate disruption and urgent calls for global sustainability, the Eugene M. Burke C.S.P. Lectureship on Religion and Society is honored to welcome Bill McKibben—author, activist, and one of the world’s most influential voices on climate change—to UC San Diego’s Jeannie Auditorium.
Bill McKibben is an author, educator, and environmentalist, who helped found 350.org, the first global grassroots climate campaign, and who has recently helped found Third Act, to build a progressive organizing movement for people over the age of 60.
This lecture offers a rare opportunity to re-engage with the moral stakes of environmental action, inviting all audiences to consider how courage, truth, and collective responsibility can shape a more sustainable and equitable future.
The event begins at 6:00 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. for a book sales.
